All New York campuses are operating on a regular schedule.
About NYIT Alerts
NYIT Alerts is a mass notification system for emergency communications and student outreach. It's an efficient, timely way for NYIT to contact students, faculty, and staff via text message (SMS) or voice message in the event of emergencies or campus delays/closures. Students may also receive administrative reminders and notices.
NYIT Alerts uses 23177 as the incoming text messaging number. Please save this number and program it as NYIT Alerts so you can quickly recognize it as the official source of NYIT messages.
Because the security of our NYIT community is of utmost importance, NYIT Alerts is an opt-out system. All current full- and part-time students, faculty, and staff members are automatically part of the system and do not have to sign up to receive NYIT Alerts. If you are not part of the school's contact database and you try to subscribe, you will not be able to do so.
Updating Your Information
Please log in each semester and make sure your information is up to date. Updates may take up to two days.
Use “Primary Outreach” as the main phone at which NYIT may contact you for essential student services, such as Registrar or Bursar. You may only select one phone (mobile or other) to be your Primary Outreach.
If you forget your NYIT password (also used for my.nyit.edu), you can reset it here. Then, return to manage your NYIT Alerts and complete your alert updates.
While we strongly encourage you to use NYIT Alerts, you may opt-out of it at any time by texting STOP NYIT to 23177. If you change your mind, you may request to begin receiving text messages again by texting SUBSCRIBE NYIT to 23177.
If you require assistance, contact NYIT's Service Central (516.686.1400, option 1) for assistance.
