Habits are unconscious patterns of behavior that are acquired with frequent repetition. This presentation will look at what habits exist among innovative educators. The audience will learn how to blend ideas across disciplines, seek important feedback in the innovation process, and find out how to fail fast and forward when disrupting the status quo. In addition, Courtney will share ways the division as a collaborative unit can engage the passionately curious and work to align all innovations with the mission of serving students. Audience members will gain new perspectives on innovation, as well as practical approaches to innovation they can start utilizing immediately in their work.

Courtney O’Connell is a rising leader on the topic of innovation in education. Her TEDx talk “Go All In on Education” provoked a national conversation on innovating the education system. After working the last five years for Rutgers University in the Student Life department, she recently was hired to work alongside best-selling author Erik Qualman as Director of Business Design. Courtney is determined to disrupt the current education system in hopes of making education a more engaging and meaningful experience for all students.
