Martin Gerson, Ph.D., has joined NYIT as the dean and executive director of the Vancouver campus as of Jan. 16. The Montreal native has nearly four decades of experience in higher education in Canada, where he previously served in academic leadership positions at Langara College and was the recipient of the 2012 Dr. Idahlynn Karre Exemplary Leadership Award. His area of expertise is mathematical logic.

Since NYIT student Ravi Muti rocked his career path by studying entrepreneurship instead of accounting, he has never looked back. With a newly incorporated start-up business under his belt, he has set his sights on developing ventures that will ultimately contribute to the greater good of society.
This week Muti, a member of the NYIT-Vancouver MBA Class of 2012 and a former volunteer at his neighborhood's community patrol, received a Surrey Board of Trade Top 25 Under 25 award for his commitment to the community and notable achievements as a role model for young business professionals. Fourteen NYIT-Vancouver students raised the NYIT flag at the top of Grouse Mountain on Saturday, July 9. The two-hour hike, known as the “Grouse Mountain Grind,” spans nearly three kilometers and is nicknamed “Mother Nature’s Stairmaster” due to its steep incline.
Once they reached the top, the group enjoyed a picnic and scenic views of the North Shore Mountains of Vancouver’s Pacific Range.
Led by NYIT School of Management Professor Abram Poczter, Ph.D, three NYIT-Vancouver students won the title of “Industry Champion” in the GLO-BUS online business competition for the week of June 27 to July 3. Read More.
NYIT-Vancouver held its annual graduation ceremony on June 10, 2011. The Class of 2011 included 27 graduates who celebrated along with guests including friends, family and alumni. The ceremony was followed by a luncheon at the University of British Columbia's Sage Bistro.
