NYIT-Nanjing and NUPT’s College of Overseas Education hosted leaders from both universities and special guest Mr. Mark Tesone, Acting U.S. Consul General in Shanghai, at a lovely commencement ceremony this morning. Students and staff at NYIT’s Nanjing Campus and its partner, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications (NUPT), are invited to participate in the visit of U.S. musicians the Campbell Brothers (pictured above) this week, together with folklorists Sandra Kennedy, Josh Kohn, and Nick Spitzer. With the backdrop of the NYIT-Peking University EcoPartnership and last month’s jointly organized conference in Beijing on “The Water-Energy Nexus: Sustainability and Global Challenges,” NYIT President Edward Guiliano, Ph.D., (pictured, center, with EcoPartneship leaders) sat for an in-depth interview with Shao Haipeng for China’s prestigious First Financial Daily. President Guiliano discussed China’s social development relating to technology, resources, and public policy. In addition to First Financial Daily, several mainstream Chinese outlets, including Entrepreneur's Daily, Sina Finance, Guangdong Securities, and Fangzhen Securities, have published the president's thoughts. In celebration of Europe Day, the European Chamber of Commerce in Nanjing, along with Alliance Française Nanjing and New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), cordially invite you to attend “Face to Face: Foreign Companies & Young Talents.” This HR recruitment event will take place 10 May from 1 pm to 6 pm, at the Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications campus in Xianlin. Chinese students played their traditional musical instruments in a spontaneous “jam session” with a group of visiting Cajun musicians at NYIT-Nanjing last week. The NYIT Center for Humanities and Culture at NUPT, one of 17 American Culture Centers in China which seek to foster intercultural communication, hosted a group of visitors from Louisiana for a series of meetings with students. Thanks to a grant from the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, the NYIT Center for Humanities and Culture at NUPT will host "Cultures of the American Gulf Coast: Work and Play in Story and Song from Louisiana to Florida." The events will take place 10-11 April 2014.
Fulbright Scholar David Allen Sullivan will lecture at the NYIT Center for Humanities and Culture at NUPT on Thursday, March 6. The event is co-sponsored with the Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications School of Foreign Studies. Professor Sullivan delivers two lectures: "American Documentaries: Facts versus Fabrications" and "New Orleans: Racism, Classicism, and Hurricane Katrina".
The NYIT Center for Humanities and Culture at NUPT recently welcomed artist/filmmaker Luke Jaeger. On Thursday, 27 February, Mr. Jaeger visited with students and staff during an informal lunch hour. The following evening, he presented a show entitled “Best Contemporary American Short Films,” in which he screened and discussed films by other artists, as well as some of his own work. Read more.

"The Water-Energy Nexus: Sustainability and Global Challenges," a U.S.-China EcoPartnerships conference organized by NYIT and Peking University, will take place on April 17, 2014 in Beijing. Organized in cooperation with AIChE and the International Society for Water Solutions, the conference will assemble specialists from around China and the U.S. Read more.

On Nov. 30, NYIT Nanjing School of Management conducted its 2nd Annual Stakeholders’ Conference. The theme of this conference was “Global Education and 21st Century Skills Required in the Workplace.”
On Nov. 30, NYIT Nanjing School of Management held its first “Alumni Night.” The theme of the event was “Networking for Success”.
On Nov. 29, NYIT Nanjing School of Management hosted its 2nd Annual Business Advisory Board at the NYIT Center for Humanities and Culture at NUPT.
