Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Nanjing, China RA #1650

Responsibilities: New York Institute of Technology (NYIT-Nanjing) School of Engineering and Computing Sciences is seeking a full time Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (one position).  This is primarily an undergraduate teaching position at NYIT’s Nanjing, China Campus, with a start date of February 2015.

Temp Coordinator RA #484

Responsibilities: The Temporary Coordinator reports directly to the Dean of the School Engineering and Computing Sciences (SoECS). This position is based at the Manhattan campus with travel to the Old Westbury campus as needed. The temporary coordinator will have responsibilities on both the Old Westbury campus and Manhattan campus as determined by the dean. Roles and responsibilities include handling a high volume of graduate student applications and queries, and assisting with the evaluation of graduate applications in NY and globally. Other duties as necessary.

Qualifications: 
Bachelor's degree with experience providing administrative support. Proficiency in working with PC based programs including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; ability to handle sensitive, confidential information; ability to work with a wide variety of people in varying levels of responsibility; detail oriented with the ability to execute multiple tasks in an organized manner; strong written and oral communication skills.

Coordinator RA #1662

Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the Dean of the School of Engineering and Computing Sciences, the Coordinator will split his/her time between the Old Westbury and Manhattan campuses. The coordinator will handle a large volume of student applications and queries, and assist with the evaluation of graduate applications in NY and globally. Additional duties include coordinating current undergraduate and graduate student recruitment and retention efforts via targeted activities, special gatherings and competitions, mentoring of engineering clubs and leaders, compiling student scholarship, fellowship and graduate school information. The Coordinator will support the Dean’s Honors program and other scholarship programs, act as liaison with both Career Services and Admissions for outreach to high schools, employers and the wider community, as well as assist with engineering speakers’ lecture series and employer information sessions and panels. He/she will assist with the organization of conferences, showcase events, open house and engineering days, assist with faculty recruiting ads and posting, and filing of faculty candidates’ materials and applications. The coordinator will be responsible for the School’s website, development of promotional materials and NYIT catalog updates. He/she will perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: Master’s degree in engineering and /or computer science is required. Excellent verbal , organizational and computer (MS Office Suite) skills are also required.
