NYIT has named Jerry Balentine, D.O., to the new position of vice president for medical affairs and global health. Balentine, currently executive vice president for the St. Barnabas Health Care System, will assume the position effective Nov. 1. He will oversee the College of Osteopathic Medicine, led by Dean Wolfgang Gilliar, D.O., and the School of Health Professions, led by Patricia Chute Ed.D., as well as NYIT's medical clinics in Old Westbury, Central Islip, and Uniondale. Barbara Ross-Lee, D.O., NYIT vice president for health sciences and medical affairs, will continue to direct NYIT's national health policy leadership programs and lead the planning and implementation of an additional site of NYITCOM at Arkansas State University....more
