Learning Center

The Learning Center is dedicated to providing academic tutorial support and skill-based workshops to students. Tutoring is offered in a broad range of courses, and individual, small group, and walk-in tutoring is free of charge. The center’s primary goal is to provide students with the skills and confidence they need to become independent learners, self-directed, and goal-oriented.

Our tutors are highly qualified and trained NYIT undergraduate and graduate students who have been recommended by their professors. In addition to helping students with course content, tutors clarify instructions for course assignments, teach strategies for effective student and test preparation, provide peer advising, and serve as positive role models.

Sessions are usually one hour, except for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines, which may require additional time. All tutoring takes place in the center during operation hours unless cleared with Learning Center staff. For more information, visit the Learning Center on your campus:
