COM 503 Foundations of Osteopathic Medicine Enrichment 15 College of Osteopathic Med
This course will bolster and enrich students’ knowledge in the foundational sciences that are essential to success at the COM. The course combines three elements/approaches: 1) Select set of required prerecorded lectures in the main topics of biochemistry/genetics, histology, anatomy, microbiology/immunology, pathology and pharmacology; 2) Team-based case-based learning sessions termed clinical inquiry that will support the foundational material with medical cases that will run parallel to the prerecorded lectures. This combines elements of integration and application of the information in a clinical approach, peer instruction, and feedback; 3) Study plan and weekly reflection.
