SMART Scholarship Program

The Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Defense Education Program is a scholarship/fellowship for service program in which academically excellent students pursuing degrees in disciplines of particular interest to the Department of Defense (DoD) receive funding for full tuition, related educational fees, and living expenses.

Participants in the SMART Scholarship for Service Program receive:

  • Annual stipend ranging from $25,000 to $41,000 depending on prior educational experience
  • Full tuition and related educational fees
  • Book allowance of $1,000 per academic year
  • Paid summer internships
  • Employment placement after graduation

Vermont Incentive Grant

Any Vermonter accepted or enrolled in an undergraduate degree or certificate program that will be attending college full-time, and doesn't already have a bachelor's degree, is eligible to apply for a Vermont Incentive Grant. They can be used at schools either within Vermont or out of state. To apply, complete a Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) and a Vermont Grant Application. You can complete both the FAFSA and the Vermont Grant Application. Go to VSAC and complete application as soon as possible because this grant is awarded on a first come, first serve basis.

 

The Hispanic College Fund Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements

  • be Hispanic
  • maintain a 3.0 Grade Point Average (on a 4.0 scale)
  • be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • reside in the U.S. or Puerto Rico
  • be a current or rising undergraduate (some programs accept graduate students) student or a high school senior enrolling at a college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico
  • demonstrate financial need

*Some HCF Programs also require that a student be pursuing a certain area of study.

* Students studying computer science, computer engineering, pharmacy, or nursing are highly encouraged to apply.

 

Philanthropic Educational Organization Scholarship

The Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) offers a variety of funding opportunities for United States citizens and international students. Funding is provided through scholarships and loans. Please visit the following link for more information: PEO International.

 

NASA Aeronautics Scholarship Program

The NASA Aeronautics Scholarship Program which is administered by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) is officially accepting applications for the 2010 Aeronautics Scholarship Program. It is expected that approximately 20 two-year undergraduate, and 5 two-year with an option of a third year graduate scholarships will be awarded annually to students pursuing aeronautical engineering and related fields such as Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, and Mathematics. Total allocated award amounts are up to $40,000 for undergraduates and up to $125,000 for graduates. These funds will go towards tuition and related costs, as well as to provide paid summer internship opportunities at a NASA research center.

Competitive applicants interested in this amazing opportunity should begin completing application materials immediately. A completed application will consist of profile information, academic background (including transcripts), a resume, an essay for undergraduates, a proposal for graduates, letters of recommendations, and any test scores, such as GRE's, when appropriate.
