Congratulations on your acceptance and welcome to NYIT! We look forward to seeing you on campus. Before you begin your studies here, here is a quick to-do list:
-
Secure your place in the upcoming class: Complete the Enrollment Reply Form in your acceptance package as soon as possible-preferably before May 1 for the fall semester. The $500 nonrefundable deposit will secure your place. You may also submit your deposit through NYITConnect.
-
Graduate students must meet with their academic advisor (listed below) to register. All first-semester graduate students must register in person. Please contact Advising for more info.
-
Activate your NYITConnect account: Once you are admitted for classes, you can activate your username and create a password for NYIT email account and NYITConnect, which allows you to conduct academic and financial business with NYIT. Both are accessible through the student web portal MyNYIT. Your NYIT email is the main form of communication with students about academic and college-wide notices and/or changes, and NYITConnect allows you to register for classes, obtain grades, and academic progress reports. It is possible to forward your NYIT email to your personal email account so you don't miss any important messages. For directions on how to log in to MyNYIT for the first time, please follow five simple steps.
-
Proof of degree and final transcripts: Since your admission to NYIT may be contingent upon successful completion of course work in progress, it is your responsibility to ensure final official transcripts are filed with the Office of Admissions. Your Proof of Degree and graduation date is required of all incoming graduate students.
-
Immunizations: NYIT requires that all students show proof of immunizations before they can attend classes. Please complete the Student Immunization Form (pdf) and mail it to NYIT.
-
English Proficiency Exam - International Students Only: Graduate students whose TOEFL scores fall between 500 and 550 (written), 173 to 213 (computerized), or 61 to 80 (Internet based), or whose IELTS score falls between 5 and 5.5 must take the English Proficiency Exam. Sign up for your exam >>
