Assistant Professor of Architecture Tobias Holler will give a presentation today at 6 p.m. at Axor NYC - Design Studio, 29 Ninth Ave. in New York City. His firm Holler Architecture was one of seven firms selected by the American Institute of Architects for its New Practices New York 2012 award recognizing innovative and emerging architecture firms in New York City. The award noted Holler’s Long Island Radically Rezoned (LIRR) project, a sustainable vision of a self-sufficient, waste-free “living island” for 3.1 million residents. Many of his firm's projects sync with NYIT coursework, including the design and construction of a recycling and education center in Nosara, Costa Rica, this past summer with NYIT architecture and engineering students.
