Liz Weintraub Honored by the AIAS

Liz Weintraub is a fifth year architecture student currently in her second term as the NYIT Chapter President of the AIAS.  Liz also sits on the National Membership Committee.  In December, Liz was recognized by the AIAS as being “Chapter Leader of the Month.”  She receives this honor based on her many accomplishments as both Chapter President and student leader.

Liz co-founded NYIT Old Westbury’s AIAS Freedom by Design Program and also co-founded Operation Resilient Long Island (ORLI).  Operation Resilient Long Island's mission is to raise awareness for resilient design after Superstorm Sandy.  This operation was created after realizing that so many NYIT students had been affected by the damage done by the storm.  Liz sits on faculty committees and was a teacher’s assistant.  You can read about Liz's recognition on the AIAS website.
