John di Domenico, an architecture professor at NYIT and founding principal of the studio di Domenico + Partners, will receive the Sidney L. Strauss Award on Tuesday, Jan. 15 at the 106th annual awards dinner of the New York Society of Architects. The honor recognizes outstanding achievement for the benefit of the architectural profession.
Professor di Domenico teaches Design Studio and City Planning and actively encourages NYIT alumni to collaborate on projects in his professional design studio. His firm's current projects include the conceptual design for a high-speed rail system that redefines travel along the Boston-Washington corridor, transformation of two buildings for Cornell University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and the development of sustainable landscape design for the United Nations New York campus.
