This certificate is designed to build job mastery for the practicing construction professional, architect, designer, engineer programmer, or technician. The courses presume no previous background in the use of AutoCAD. However, participants are expected to have basic computer skills and know basic principles of drafting. To earn the certificate in AutoCAD 2009, each participant must complete all four courses, which may be taken in different semesters. Courses may also be taken individually for skill enhancement. These courses are registered and approved by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for professional continuing education, but are not approved for license renewal by New York state licensing board for non-health, safety, and welfare credit. For each course, all sessions must be attended in order to obtain AIA Continuing Education System credit.
