What undergraduate programs does NYIT offer in communication arts?

NYIT's Communication Arts department offers three undergraduate degree programs:

  • A.A.S. in Communication Arts (2 year) (A.A.S.) with a major in communication arts: a two-year, 66-credit program with basic coursework in all media, a humanities core, and some specialization in a few of the following areas: film, television, web design, advertising and public relations, print/online/electronic journalism, etc.
  • B.F.A. in Communication Arts (B.F.A.): a four-year program with specializations available in motion graphics, web design, advertising and public relations, film, television, print/online/electronic journalism, corporate and documentary video, and media studies.
     
  • B.S. in Advertising (B.S.).

Professional hands-on experience is offered via student-run programs such as the Emmy award-winning nightly news program "L.I. News Tonight", "Carleton Group" advertising agency, WNYT radio station, campus newspaper, campus theater, as well as internships at prominent firms.
