What is a Flex Fund Account?
The flex fund is money that you put into an account, accessible through your student ID card, which can be used for multiple purposes, including purchases made in the dining facilities and at vending machines and copy machines that are equipped with a card-swipe. Flex fund money is also accepted at NYIT bookstores.
How it works:
Funds are good for one academic year – students, staff and faculty must use all funds in the account no later than May 30. All Flex funds are brought to zero May 31or the next business day.
Students, staff and faculty can add funds to their Flex fund account through the NYITConnect menu, selecting 'Add Funds to My ID Card' or directly at NYIT One Card, where you can invite family and friends to add funds directly to your card.
Funds can also be added to your card via the CMC machines which accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards. The CMC machines are located on the Old Westbury campus in the Riland building cafe, the Student Activity Center, and at the Wisser Library; at the Manhattan campus in the 1855 Broadway Library; at Central Islip in the Building 69 cafe.
There is NO SALES TAX on dining purchases when using your card.
