Old Westbury, N.Y. (July 21, 2009) - Former NYIT baseball short stop Mike LaLuna is featured in an article which appears in Baseball America’s most recent magazine. The article, written by J.J. Cooper, and titled Their Last, Best Chance, covers LaLuna’s path to the minor leagues and how the Indy Pro Showcase gave him an opportunity after he went undrafted and unsigned.

LaLuna, who also appeared in Baseball America’s Independent Leagues Top 20 Prospects article on Oct. 7, 2008, was signed by the Detroit Tigers and is now pitching for the Tigers short-season Oneonta affiliate.
