Bridgeport C.T. (Oct. 31, 2009) – The NYIT men’s soccer team closed out the 2009 season with a 2-1 victory over host Bridgeport this afternoon in East Coast Conference action. With the win NYIT finishes the year with a record of 9-9 overall and 3-4 in the ECC, while Bridgeport falls to 10-4-3 overall and 5-2 in conference.

 

The first half saw both teams score within a :30 second period. NYIT scored first at the 23:04 mark when sophomore Farah Toure (Prince George, Md.) scored on an assist from sophomore Aristides Campos Jr (Freeport, N.Y.). Bridgeport followed by converting a penalty kick to even the score at 1-1.

 

Just two minutes into the second half, Toure netted his second of the game and scored the game-winner on a cross from junior David Suchodolski  (Toronto, Ontario).

 

Senior goalkeeper Cosimo D’Agostino (Brampton, Ontario) faced eight shots and saved seven.
