Brookville, N.Y. (Oct. 31, 2009) – The NYIT women’s volleyball team split their two matches at the C.W. Post tri-match this afternoon, defeating the hosts 3-1 before losing to American International 0-3.

Against C.W. Post the set scores were 27-25, 17-25, 25-22, and 25-20. Senior Shelby Klein (Orange Cal.) led both teams with 16 kills. Sophomore Emily Syers (East Meadow, N.Y.) dished out a game high 44 assists and sophomore Lisa Peacock (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) picked up a team high 12 digs.

The set scores for the AIC match were 12-25, 17-25, and 20-25. Klein led the Bears with 11 kills and nine digs. Syers had a team high 29 assists.

The Bears return to action on Nov. 3 at Queens College in a 7 p.m. start.
