About The Box

The Box is New York Institute of Technology’s blog for university news, events, people profiles, interactive features, and cultural insights created by and for our community and the world beyond. We designed our blog with a responsive approach, meaning that our content is easily read and enjoyed on your smartphone, tablet, phablet, or desktop computer.

Why Do We Call It The Box?

A box is a cube made up of squares, and at NYIT, we embrace the square. It’s part of our brand’s visual identity. Our logo is square. We actually say "it’s hip to be square." We took our square inspiration and worked it into the design of our blog. Let us know what you think.

Who Is Our Audience?

Current students, faculty, staff, alumni, and prospective students and their parents as well as journalists in need of experts for their stories. No matter who you are, we want you to stop and think, "Wait a second … I had no idea NYIT has this and does that. I want to know more."

How Do We Select Content for The Box?

The Box news blog is curated and published by NYIT’s Office of Communications and Marketing. Our creative professionals collaborate with a network of bloggers from among our core readership to deliver content that is bold, timely, authentic, and illuminating.
