M.B.A. Students Master the Bloomberg Terminal

September 22, 2016

For the first time, 35 NYIT School of Management students in Vancouver were able to earn Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) certificates as part of a summer class. The School of Management maintains Bloomberg terminals, which provide access to business data analysis, at NYIT campuses throughout the world.

To earn the certificate, NYIT-Vancouver students used the terminal to successfully complete an eight-hour e-learning program, including modules on economic indicators, currencies, fixed income, and equities.

Student Anolita Menezes said, “Going through the Bloomberg modules helped me understand important concepts that are applicable in the real world. This practical knowledge will be really useful for me in my career.” Menezes’ classmate Saurabh Dhall added, “Earning a BMC certificate also opens up a huge database of BMC-certified professionals that I can reach out to and network to help me find a job after my M.B.A.”

NYIT-Vancouver’s Sekhar Amba, Ph.D., said, “Students have been excited about adding the certificate to their LinkedIn profiles.”

Graduates with BMC certificates are ready for jobs that involve data analysis in fields including marketing, accounting, and finance.
