The Family Connection

Welcome, Families!

Sending your student off to college can be a stressful experience for both you and him/her!  Counseling and Wellness would like to provide you with several things to watch out for to make sure this is a healthy transition.

Some problems during this time include homesickness, anxiety, over/under eating and sleeping, substance use, problems with time management, increasing sadness and crying, and social issues such as problems making new friends, loneliness, or dating issues.

We are here to help. Counseling services are confidential and free of charge to all enrolled students.  We have offices on both campuses staffed with licensed professional counselors. See more about Counseling services at NYIT or call Manhattan at 212.261.1770 or Old Westbury at 516.686.7976.
