The NYIT community celebrated the achievements of 284 medical graduates who received doctoral hoods and honors during a ceremony on May 20 at the Tilles Center for Performing Arts at CW Post in Old Westbury, N.Y. This year's graduating class had a 99 percent match rate for medical residencies, which they will begin as of Monday, July 1 at hospitals and institutions across the United States.

This year’s raffle winner for the Civility Bear-Pass initiative at the Old Westbury campus is Marwan Araim, a first-year pre-med major from Wantagh, N.Y. To be entered into the raffle, students needed to be observed by a civility advocate engaging in an act of civility and given a Bear Pass Card. At the end of the academic year, one of the passes was selected via a raffle as a winner.
