Welcome Ellis College of NYIT Students!
All Ellis College of NYIT students graduating in the 2008-2009 year are eligible to attend NYIT's 48th Annual Commencement on Sunday, May 17, 2009. Ellis students march with their respective academic schools for the main commencement and then take part in their school commencement.
If you plan to attend the commencement ceremonies, if you have not already submitted an Intent to Graduate form, please submit this form through your MyEllis page by April 3. Beginning March 11, all students will be able to access the commencement ticket area of this site. Students will need to have their Ellis student ID number to log into the site (this can be found on the My Statement link in the Account section of your MyEllis page).

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation. If you plan to attend Commencement at NYIT’s Old Westbury Long Island campus on Sunday, May 17, 2009, please read the information below as it relates to the commencement ceremony.

NYIT Commencement will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2009 from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Please check the commencement web pages for specific information.

Hotel Reservations:
You can make a reservation at any of the hotels listed on the commencement Web site. However, we have reserved a NYIT room block at the following hotel:

To make a reservation, please go to https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/nycml-melville-marriott-long-island/, enter your arrival and departure date and the group code nytnyta. You can also call 1.800.228.9290 and provide the same group code. The NYIT rate is $145.00 per night.
NYIT will offer a bus from the Melville Marriott to the campus on Sunday, May 17. The details are:
7:30 p.m. Buses picks up students and guests at Melville Marriott Long Island and take them to NYIT Old Westbury
3 p.m. Shuttles departs NYIT Old Westbury Campus to Melville Marriott Long Island. Please note the location where the driver drops you off at the NYIT Old Westbury campus. This is the same location the driver will pick you up to take you back to the hotel.
There will be an NYIT representative in the hotel lobby at 7:15 a.m. to direct you. They will be holding an NYIT sign. The bus will depart promptly at 7:30 a.m. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Please e-mail events@nyit.edu with your first name, last name and number of seats you wish to reserve with a maximum of 6 including the graduate.

- Thursday, May 7 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Old Westbury, Sports Complex, Hall of Fame lobby
- Tuesday, May 12 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Old Westbury, Sports Complex, Gym
- Tuesday, May 12 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Manhattan, 16 W. 61st, 11th floor foyer
- Saturday, May 16 from Noon - 2 p.m. at Old Westbury, Student Activity Center, 1st floor
- Sunday, May 17 - COMMENCEMENT DAY - from 7:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at Old Westbury, Student Activity Center, 1st floor, ticket center

Picking Up Your Commencement Tickets:
We are holding a special Ellis ticket pick-up day on Saturday, May 16, 2009. Details are as follows:

Notes: A casual lunch buffet will be available during this time.
If you are unable to pick up your tickets on Saturday, they will be waiting for you at the Student Activity Center ticket booth on Sunday, May 17, 2009 from 7:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Picking up your cap and gown (commencement regalia):
The bookstore will have a remote location set up at the student activity center on Saturday, May 16 from Noon – 2 p.m. and on Sunday, May 17 from 7:30 – 11:30 a.m. for you to purchase regalia. You do not have to place an advanced order. You can simply purchase it when you arrive on campus. If you prefer to place an advanced order, please contact the bookstore at 516.686.7584.
