How many guests can the mansion accommodate for my wedding ceremony and/or reception?
We can host a minimum of 100 and a maximum of 300 adult guests for your event. We can also accommodate more intimate receptions, large formal weddings, and everything in between. We offer flexible indoor and outdoor spaces to suit your specific needs. Our event specialists have experience with diverse types of wedding celebrations, and we welcome couples of all faiths and cultures. Can I hold my wedding ceremony at NYIT de Seversky Mansion?
Yes! The ceremony fee adds one hour onto your reception time, which includes a 30-minute champagne welcome. The fee also covers the setup and breakdown of your ceremony chairs, as well as amplification for your officiant.

Ceremonies are typically held on our blue slate patio or under the linden tree in our backyard. In case of inclement weather, the decision to move inside can be made three hours prior to guest arrival.


How many weddings does NYIT de Seversky Mansion host per day?
We only host one wedding per day. Smaller events, such as bridal showers and meetings, may be held earlier on the same day, but there is always a sufficient three-hour gap between the end of the first event and the wedding guests' arrival.


Does the administrative fee include gratuity?
The 21 percent administrative fee is not a gratuity, and is therefore not distributed to the service team. The administrative fee is a standard industry fee that not only offsets the administration of your event, but also helps maintains the mansion and property. Contact us with specific questions about suggested gratuity amounts and distribution.


Who is my contact during wedding planning and throughout the event?
Unlike at most venues, our sales team remains your main point of contact from planning to the day of your event. During the final stages of planning, you will meet your maître d', who will then be your point person during the event to ensure every detail is professionally executed.


When can I arrive for photos?
You may arrive for photos up to three hours prior to guest arrival. Additional time may be added at an hourly rate.


Who is the caterer? Can they accommodate the dietary needs of my attendees?
NYIT de Seversky Mansion is a full-service catering facility; our professional culinary team prepares all menu items in-house and adds new seasonal flavors and ingredients to the menu throughout the year. We are happy to accommodate any dietary needs, restrictions, and special menu requests, such as gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, halal, and kosher-style meals. Our event specialists will help you create a customized menu that fulfills all your needs and preferences.


Can I provide my own caterer?
Yes, you have the option to use your own catering service if your desired cuisine cannot be created by our culinary team. For example, we can prepare kosher-style meals in house, but glatt kosher meals must be supplied by a qualified vendor. Please contact us for more information.


May I change or add items to my menu?
Of course! We are happy to accommodate substitutions of similarly priced menu items at no extra cost. Please note that some changes or additions may be considered upgrades and will require an additional fee. You will be notified of any additional fees in writing.


How many servers will be present at my reception?
The number of servers is based on the guest count and style of reception; however, the general ratio is one service team member per guest table.


When is my final guest count and payment due?
Payment for your minimum adult guest count is due 30 days prior to the day of your event. Payment for any additional guests (broken down by the number of adults, children, and vendors) is due two weeks prior to your event day.


When do I choose my menu and finalize all details?
You and your sales associate will meet seven to twelve weeks prior to the day of your event to finalize details and discuss menu requests and selections, vendor information, the wedding day timeline, and all other details. We will also schedule a date the week prior to your wedding for you to bring us all décor and personal items, review your final floor plan, and meet your maître d'. Of course, please don’t hesitate to contact your sales associate at any time with any questions or concerns.


Can showers or rehearsal dinners be held at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion?
Celebratory events require a minimum of 50 adults and are based on availability. Please contact us or ask your sales associate about available dates.
