Motion Capture Workshop: NYIT Collaborates with Oxford Brooks, UK

Center for Information and Internet Technology

The mission of the Center for Information and Internet Technology is to foster multidisciplinary collaboration between NYIT and its industrial affiliates. The goal of the center is to facilitate practical applications of related technologies through the development of improved products and services. The center initiates and supports research in areas such as networked multimedia, e-commerce, and digital.

 Recent Projects

  • Bellcore's residential gateway project, a heterogeneous home networking platform featuring ADSL-based Internet access and Ethernet IEEE 1394/ and X-10 networks interconnecting computers and network appliances
  • Residential multimedia network featuring Bellcore's patented packet video and Internet access systems based on ADSL and ATM technologies
  • Discrete event model for simulation of the Cassini spacecraft electronics for NASA. This system is used to test the sequence of commands before it is up-linked to the spacecraft
  • Multimedia communication network with quality of service layer based on Bellcore's patented deadline priority queuing and on-the-fly virtual path reservation scheme
  • Research in security systems with applications in biometrics and digital video surveillance. Image compression and computer remote vision applications in security and quality control
  • U.S. Air Force sponsored research in target identification algorithms and pattern recognition systems in high-resolution radar profile
  • Research in broadband access network combining ATU-C/ATU-R IP routing functionality
