One Day Immersion in TV, Cable and Digital Entertainment Collegiate Conference
On Saturday April 14th, 2012, 15 members of Eta Chi Gamma and AIAS (American Institute of Architecture Students) joined together to help re-store and build a house in New Cassel, Westbury, NY with the nonproft organization Habitat for Humanity. The students had a six hour day of putting up siding on the exterior of the house, setting up scaffolding, and nailing hurricane strapping on the interior of the home. For lunch, the volunteers enjoyed donated home cooked food served by a local Girl Scouts troops group. The students told us the Habitat for Humanity staff at the site were very grateful and highly impressed by the work abilities of our NYIT students. They were welcomed back anytime to continue volunteering. "The experience was an all-around fulfilling and an rewarding opportunity in which everyone had a terrific time while giving back to the community."
Thank you to the members of Eta Chi Gamma and AIAS for representing NYIT and engaging in our community!
