Mission
If we ignore the history of art and design then we risk re-inventing mediocrity. Review of historical work helps us design visionary solutions for the future. The gallery shows both historical and contemporary work as a way of honing design theories crucial to future technological solutions.
NYIT Gallery 61 engages the entire NYIT community by exhibiting work of students, faculty, staff, well-known and emerging artists. The exhibitions include painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, photography, video, film and performance. NYIT hosts public programs including lectures, symposia, films, concerts, charitable auctions.
The gallery is open to the public Monday through Fridays 10 AM – 7 PM and on weekends with the exception of school holidays and snow days. Please contact the curator, Jennifer Mitchell for gallery information.
