To fully enjoy the 21st-century global educational opportunities at NYIT, students and faculty members are encouraged to travel to another NYIT campus to study for a semester or more to expand their global knowledge and understanding of different cultures, government structures, traditions, and methods.
Because each academic program is the same at all NYIT campuses, students can take the same coursework they would at their home campus--or expand their elective base--while enhancing their NYIT global experience. This way, students don't lose any credits or time in pursuing their degrees, and the get the added benefit of 21st-century global knowledge and experience--a valuable skill set to attract employers.

The NYIT Center for Global Exchange and the Offices of Career Services and International Education held their inaugural pre-departure event for NYIT-Nanjing students planning to study in New York this fall. Students in China gathered at the recently unveiled NYIT Center for Humanities and Culture to participate in the Skype broadcast with NYIT administrators and students in Manhattan.
“It was a great experience and I hope the time spent helped students in China better understand how our different offices can assist with their transition from China to New York,” said NYIT Dean of Career Services John Hyde.
Three NYIT students who had already made the transition from China to the United States—Cindy Haoyue Zhou, Derek Zhijian Tao, and Armstrong Zhixun Weng—facilitated a question and answer session on everything from their initial adjustment to life in New York to the graduate school admissions process in the United States.
“I hope that we can all learn from this positive first experience and move forward with additional events that help prepare our students for their time here in New York,” Hyde added.
Undergraduate students from NYIT-Bahrain will premiere their student movie project, Silveraven, in the summer of 2012 at a local cinema. Zeeshan J. Shah, Assistant Professor of Fine Arts and Computer Graphics, has shared this sneak preivew of the film.

Collaborations, connectivity, and innovation promise to stir among denizens of the newly unveiled NYIT-Nanjing Center for Humanities and Culture at Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
“Cultural encounters and cultural enrichment will provide the key framework to help expand your knowledge base, craft ideas, and share them with local and global audiences,” NYIT President Edward Guiliano, Ph.D., told students at the Center’s ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning.
Ceremony attendees, including U.S. Consul General in Shanghai Robert Griffiths, explored the Center’s expansion of NUPT’s “English Corner,” which now boasts a 40-seat lounge and study center as well as an 80-inch display for movie screenings. The renovations were made possible in part by a $100,000 grant awarded to NYIT by the U.S. Department of State and the American Embassy in Beijing. Read More.
