The AFP Treasury Learning System™ is a professional development program and a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) exam preparation course. The course is written by experts on corporate cash management and based on the 2014 Certified Treasury Professional body of knowledge that reflects the current responsibilities of treasury professionals. The CTP designation is the only professional credential in cash management.
This program is offered in partnership with the Association of Financial Professionals (AFP). It is a blended format of printed workbooks and web-based learning software based on the complete text of Essentials of Treasury Management, 4th edition – the official body of knowledge tested on the CTP exam. This 4.0 learning system includes printed books, online software access, a participant guide, and access to download an ebook version.
This class includes five modules:
- Introduction to Treasury Management
- Treasury Management Environment
- Working Capital Management
- Risk Management
- Financial Management
Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement in Treasury Management from AFP and earn 3.6 CEU credits.
A Smart Investment: If you do not pass your certification exam, you may attend our class during the following semester for only a $225 re-registration fee, provided you still have the necessary materials.
The CTP exam, made up of 170 questions, is based on the concepts and experiences basic to cash/treasury management. For eligibility requirements and registration information, go to the AFP Web site.

According to the 2015 AFP Compensation Survey, many factors influence a financial professional’s potential for promotion. The report said the most often cited criterion for upward mobility is increased responsibility (cited by 86% of respondents). Other factors that impact career advancement include an employees’ contribution to profitability (70%), holding an M.B.A. or other advanced degree (37%) or earning a professional certification such as AFP‘s Certified Treasury Professional (27%). The instructor for this class is Julius Atterberry, CTP. He has over twenty years of financial services experience including a variety of management roles at General Electric and Credit Suisse in corporate Finance, with a special emphasis on cash management and treasury operations. Julius is a graduate of Sacred Heart University and Fairfield's Dolan School of Business with an MBA in Finance.
