The academic medicine scholarship of the College of Osteopathic Medicine is designed to prepare outstanding medical students to pursue careers in academic medicine, including medical education, research, and clinical practice in an academic health-care setting.

The scholars spend an extra year of experiential training in research, teaching and practice and undertake several projects. Second year students in good standing may apply for this competitive program.
