September 2008 Lunch Specials and Events at NYIT's de Seversky Center


Old Westbury, N.Y., August 12, 2008: New York Institute of Technology's (NYIT) de Seversky Center will offer a variety of new lunch specials and culinary events in September. From Wednesday through Friday, lunch will be served in the elegantly appointed dining room or on the patio. Menus feature heart-healthy, reduced fat, and low-sodium selections. Frequent guests can earn a free lunch after just five visits.

Prices do not include beverages, tax, and gratuities. Lunch reservations are required and are taken for seatings from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. For full menus, reservations, or a list of upcoming events, please call 516.686.7675.

Mansion Tours: Tours for groups of eight or more are offered before lunch on select days throughout the summer. Tour guides will take guests from room to room while explaining the rich and interesting history of the historic de Seversky mansion and its original owners. Tours are $9 per guest (in addition to lunch).

Wednesdays: Three-course lunch; $16 per person
The new lunch menu features a delicious selection of appetizers, entrees, and desserts and includes coffee and tea service. Daily specials enhance menu selections.

Thursdays and Fridays: Buffet Lunch; $18 per person
Known as one of the best culinary experiences on Long Island, de Seversky's lunch buffet is back-and better than ever. Summer offerings include a cold appetizer buffet with a large selection of refreshing summer salads, grilled or roasted vegetables, and an all-you-can-eat shrimp cocktail.

Sunday, Sept. 7 & Sept. 21
Jazz Brunch Featuring Al Cardillo and Friends

Relax and groove to live jazz at our fabulous Sunday buffet brunch. This tantalizing meal includes fresh baked croissants, muffins, bagels and breakfast breads; delicious hot and cold selections; an omelet station; a carving station; a dessert station; and coffee service.
$29 per person; tax, service, and beverages additional. Reservations taken for seatings between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 14, 5-9 p.m.
Feast of San Gennaro

Can't make it to Little Italy? We'll bring Little Italy to de Seversky for you. This special buffet dinner, in honor of the patron saint of Naples, will feature traditional Italian entrees along with special stations of New York specialties: pizza, sausage and peppers, zeppolli, and an assortment of homemade desserts. You'll feel like you're on Mott Street. A fine selection of Italian wines will be available. Come celebrate with your family and friends, enjoy live entertainment, and great food and drink in our elegant setting.
$45 per person; tax, service, and beverages additional. Reservations required.

Thursday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m.
The Cabaret Club at de Seversky Presents…

Live performances by New York's hottest cabaret entertainers. Dinner includes a delicious selection of appetizers, entrees, and desserts, and is served in our elegantly appointed dining room.
$55 per person; tax, service, and beverages additional. Reservations required. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 24 at noon
Chefs' Demonstration Luncheon: "Breakfast and Brunch - The Best Omelet You Ever Had"

See how culinary magic is made. Our executive chef and pastry chef will create a menu and demonstrate tableside how to prepare it at home. Not only will you enjoy their wonderful menu, but you will also learn the chefs' secrets! And what is a party without cocktails? We will pair the perfect drinks with the meal and show you how easy they are to prepare at home (Bloody Mary, Mimosa, and Bellini cocktails).
$25 per person; tax, service, and beverages additional. Reservations required.

Sunday, Sept. 28
New York Fall Harvest and Wine Festival

11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
This fall, come celebrate the harvest with us. This premier event will feature wines from vintners from all over New York State. Local growers and suppliers will offer fresh produce and crafts for sale. Other features include entertainment, family fun, mansion tours, and harvest-inspired food stands and stations. Make this a tradition for whole family.
Admission: $10 per person; tax, service, and beverages additional. R.S.V.P. Requested.
Children 5 years of age and under: free
