NYIT Names Laura Schranz as Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations

Old Westbury, N.Y., Nov. 10, 2008: New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) has announced the appointment of Laura Schranz as director of foundation and corporate relations. In this role, she will lead NYIT's foundation and corporate outreach for philanthropic support.

Schranz has more than 15 years of experience in fundraising and government, public, and community relations. She most recently served as director of grants and government relations at The Resource Group Inc., a consulting firm in Holbrook, N.Y. While there she secured more than $4.5 million in funding from private foundations, corporate sources, and federal, state, and county government, and was the lead account executive for a $19 million capital campaign. Prior, she served as director of outreach for Hope Lutheran Church in Selden, N.Y.

"Her solid experience will be beneficial in helping to advance NYIT's mission through philanthropy, strategic partnerships, and community engagement." Schranz earned her bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and interned at Common Cause, a nonpartisan, nonprofit political advocacy organization based in Washington, D.C.
