Dear NYIT Student nurses, faculty, family, friends and neighbors,

The NYIT student nurses association SNA has chosen the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach on Sunday, October 20, 2013 as their first fund raising and organizational volunteer service requirements for the new school year.

ALL students, faculty, family, friends and neighbors are welcome to join our American Cancer Association team registered as NYIT Student Nurses Association.

Go to the website http://makingstrideswalk.org click on the Jones Beach event “sign up” then “join a team” we are TEAM registered as NYIT Student Nurses Association place you online registration and begin your fundraising. There are multiple website links that you can access to help increase your recruitment and fundraising via mass emails and Facebook within the site.   

NYIT Event Happenings: 

• The Walk begins at Jones Beach Parking Field 5 at 8am and finishes by 11am. You still have the rest of the day to yourself.
• Put the kids in a wagon or stroller and enjoy the salt air & family togetherness.
• Sorry no pets, rollerblades, skateboards, scooters or bicycles allowed on the boardwalk.
• Bathrooms and complimentary water stations are located along the boardwalk.
• Refreshments & entertainment are provided by sponsors.
• Wear comfortable shoes and layered walking attire. Be prepared for cool or windy weather!
• Represent NYIT in your nursing sweatshirts or hats.

• **Traffic to the beach can be heavy and parking field 5 fills up fast. The earlier you arrive the easier the start.**
