NYACH serves as an intermediary, bringing together disparate entities of the workforce development system in order to address the industry’s rapidly changing labor force needs. NYACH is an initiative of the public-private partnership between the NYC Department of Small Business Services and the NYC Workforce Funders group.
NYACH, in partnership with Lehman College School of Continuing and Professional Studies, the Greater New York Hospital Association, and the NYC Department of Small Business Services, is pleased to announce the launch of a Registered Nurse (RN) Transition to Practice Pilot Program.
The Program aims to address two key problems in the nursing field: (1) newly graduated RNs with limited nursing experience are having trouble securing their first RN job; and (2) hospitals are seeking nurses with clinical experience, particularly for specific hospital units. The six month Program is aimed at providing additional education and clinical experience for newly licensed RNs who are currently unemployed or underemployed. The program, which is offered at no cost to accepted candidates, consists of six hours a week of didactic instruction at Lehman College and 24 hours a week of hands-on clinical training under the guidance of a nurse preceptor at a partnering hospital.
Applications are due by April 4, 2014. For more information about the program, eligibility, and how to apply, please see the attached flyer and visit the TTP Program website at Lehman College. Click here to view flyer.
For any questions, please contact me at or (212) 513-9251; or Dr. Judith Dyer at Lehman College at or (718) 960-2420.
