Responsibilities

Technical Support Specialist (NYCOM) New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) offers undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees to approximately 15,000 students through seven academic schools, at campuses in New York, at a number of global sites and campuses, and online. NYIT is a leader in developing creative approaches to the technological and global challenges in higher education today. New York Institute of Technology seeks a Technical Support Specialist for New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM) in the Academic Technologies Department to provide software, script and system technical expertise and support necessary for the efficient running of the various NYCOM web applications; assist in the design, development, maintenance and configuration of web applications and configuration management services; assist/train users in the efficient use of academic and administrative web application at NYCOM; assist with the maintenance of computer laboratories and work on special projects as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 2+ years experience in web application development and maintenance. Expertise in server software configuration, rollout, maintenance and support; in technology training of novice and advance users. Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of users with different computing requirements and backgrounds. Excellent decision making, problem solving and organizational skills are required. Must be available to work on holidays, weekends and evenings.
