Welcome to NYIT’s Institutional Accreditation Site:

This site was created to support New York Institute of Technology’s preparation of its Periodic Review Report to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). This organization requires all accredited institutions to meet standards related to best practices in higher education. These standards are published by MSCHE in Characteristics of Excellence in Higher Education.

To remain accredited, institutions undergo a Self-Study every 10 years, and submit a Periodic Review Report at the 5-year point between self-studies. NYIT submitted its most recent Self-Study in 2008 and is required to submit its Periodic Review Report (PRR) June 1, 2014.

Beginning in the spring of 2012, NYIT began preparation of its MSCHE Periodic Review Report (PRR). To coordinate the Institute-wide effort on this significant accreditation event, the Executive Committee of the Academic Senate authorized the creation of an ad hoc Steering Committee and setting up this website as a platform for collaboration. This site provides the following information:
