The Office of Campus Security is responsible for ensuring that only those individuals with legitimate business are granted access to New York Institute of Technology’s Manhattan campus.

All NYIT faculty and staff must obtain clearance from the Office of Campus Security for visitors, contractors, and service personnel prior to their arrival on campus. (Contractors are defined as individuals performing construction or repair projects with long-term completion periods. Service personnel are individuals performing short-term projects such as repairs to copy machines, computers, fax machines, or similar items.) The person who requested access for a visitor will become that visitor’s host and is responsible for his actions.

Upon clearance, the visitor will be issued an identification pass, which must be displayed at all times. This pass is valid for a limited period and must be returned upon departure.

All non-NYIT students and employees entering the campus will be required to sign in on the appropriate register. All information on the sign-in register must be legible, and all information requested must be provided. If authorization cannot be provided or verified, admittance will be denied.

Accountability for visitors is imperative in the event of a situation that requires immediate building evacuation.

Deliveries

No personal food deliveries are permitted within a facility, with the exception of formal or banquet deliveries. All personal food deliveries must be picked up in the lobby. Security personnel will contact the recipients so that they can come to the lobby to receive the delivery
