In 2007, NYIT became the first American university in Abu Dhabi licensed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. (It had previously secured operating approval from the Abu Dhabi Education Council.)
The programs in Interior Design (B.F.A.), Computer Science (B.S.), Business Administration (B.S.B.A. and M.B.A.), Computer Graphics (B.F.A.), Instructional Technology (M.S.), and Information Network and Computer Security (M.S.) have all received initial accreditation by the Commission for Academics Accreditation (C.A.A.) of the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Subsequently, in January 2015, NYIT's programs received full C.A.A. accreditation.
Currently, NYIT-Abu Dhabi offers two bachelor's degrees, in Business Administration and Interior Design, and three master's degrees, in Business Administration, Instructional Technology, and Information Network and Computer Security.
In the U.S., NYIT is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
