NYIT Names 19 Recipients of Presidential Global Fellowships
Dec 16 2014

Nineteen NYIT students are recipients of 2015 Presidential Global Fellowships ranging from $500 to $5,000 for research and creative projects. The awards support NYIT's efforts to broaden students' perspectives and inspire their interaction with the larger world through new academic and cultural experiences. Creativity was encouraged with students seeking new and unfamiliar educational experiences.

Examples include 4th-year medical student Megan Flynn's participation in the Peruvian Outreach Program, a four-week medical mission in Trujillo, where she will work with a local hospital and smaller satellite facilities to provide pediatric and maternity care, health screenings and educational services, and senior architecture student Paula S. Inacio's study of the Sanctuary of Fatima in Portugal as part of her architectural thesis and design for a peace and healing center. View a list of all Presidential Global Fellows.

The program is funded by a philanthropic gift to NYIT.
