NYIT is firmly committed to environmental sustainability in research and practice. Students and faculty took the lead in alternative energy research in the early 1970s, and today our global campus "green print" initiatives include forward-thinking academic programs, global conferences, solar and biodiesel research, and recycling efforts. It's part of what NYIT President Edward Guiliano has called a "sustained focus on sustainability."
As the demand for new technology increases, so do career opportunities for professionals with technical and managerial expertise in engineering, computer science, and telecommunications. We offer programs that prepare you to excel in these challenging, dynamic professions. Professional faculty, state-of-the-art labs, and onsite research centers provide a comprehensive education and competitive advantage.

Students in the Society of Automotive Engineers (pictured above) held the NYIT chapter's first car show on April 27 at the Old Westbury campus. Among the show's attendees was astronaut Greg Olsen, who displayed his Tesla car. Event proceeds were donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization dedicated to providing resources for and raising awareness of the needs of wounded U.S. veterans and service members. After a successful App Development workshop at Manhattan campus (Old Wesetbury is still pending and will happen soon), Microsoft has invited students to visit their Manhattan office for a 1-day tour where you will meet with the staff and assist in development of more apps.
They have scheduled a tour for Tuesday, May 21, at 10 a.m. until the end of business day. Please go to the doodle polling site and let me know by Thursday, April 18 if you are able to attend it: http://www.doodle.com/u692sxynpet4m7d2
This is a good opportunity for you. Please try to make every effort to attend it and let me know if you have any questions.
