Marketing Professor Comments on Surge for Consumer Reviews
The New York Times has quoted Colleen Kirk, D.P.S., professor of marketing and management, in an article discussing the rampant requests for consumers to leave reviews for products and services. As businesses continue to flood email inboxes with surveys, consumers may begin to lack trust in the authenticity of ratings.
“Review requests are skyrocketing; everybody is inundated with them,” Kirk comments. “Over time, consumers will get more skeptical of them.”
