Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) - Disclosure

NEW YORK INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY GRANTS TO STUDENTS UNDER SECTION 314(A)(1) OF THE CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE AND RELIEF SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS ACT, 2021 (CRRSAA)

New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) has received funding from the Federal government and has used the funds to distribute grants to students in accordance with Section 314(A)(1) of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA) Higher Education Emergency Relief Funding (HEERF) II. The details of this funding follow:

  1. The total amount of funds that NYIT has received from the US Department of Education pursuant to award P425E201115-20A for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students is $2,188,605.
  2. The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants NYIT has distributed to students as of March 30, 2021 is $2,189,877.
  3. The total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant under award P425E201115-20A is 4,451.
  4. NYIT has distributed Emergency Financial Aid Grants under award P425E201115-20A to all students enrolled full-time for the Spring 2021 term who have filed verified FAFSA forms (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as set forth below.
  5. In determining the distribution of the Grants, NYIT has given priority to Pell Grant recipients. NYIT has provided $687 to each of the 1,081 Pell recipients, $430 each to 3,353 non-Pell recipients who are not in entirely online programs, and $320 each to 17 students in online programs. The determined funding for students results in a total of $2,189,877 awarded to Students. NYIT will fund the remaining $1,272 from the Institutional Award P425F201745-20A.
  6. Students receiving Emergency Financial Aid Grants have been instructed that, in accordance with the Section 314(A)(1) of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA), the funds may be used for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the coronavirus (including eligible expenses under a student's cost of attendance such as food, housing, course materials, technology, healthcare, and child care).
