Kathleen Garcia, PA-C, graduated from Stony Brook University's Physician Assistant program in 2001. Her clinical career began in general surgery, where, in addition to being involved in vascular and cardiothoracic surgery, she expanded her expertise to include surgical intensive care. Garcia began her partnership with New York Tech as a preceptor for its surgical rotation and then became adjunct clinical faculty, teaching in multiple clinical skills classes. Her passion for teaching encouraged her to complete her master's in Physician Assistant Studies. Her academic pursuits have also encouraged her to continue her path toward a doctorate in Educational Leadership.

In January 2023, Garcia was hired as a full-time clinical assistant professor with both didactic and clinical year courses. She is a member of the Physician Assistant Education Association, New York State Society of Physician Assistants, and American Academy of Physician Assistants, and has also been involved in item writing for the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
