Alternative Spring Break Update

February 17, 2015

The group of 10 NYIT students selected to participate in a March 2015 service trip in Nicaragua raised $1,000 last week at two events in New York City. They sold homemade cupcakes, freshly brewed Nicaraguan coffee, and bags of Nicaraguan coffee beans to students and faculty.

"They demonstrated tremendous leadership, teamwork, and dedication throughout the planning, promotion, and execution of the two fundraisers," said Larry Kamguia (M.A. '13) coordinator for NYIT Career Services, who will accompany the students on the trip.

You can still support NYIT's Alternative Spring Break project. Additional bags of coffee are for sale. Cost is $40 per 2 lb bag of coffee beans, and the students can grind them for you, if needed. Email lkamguia@nyit.edu or order your coffee online.
