M.B.A. Graduates Celebrate at NYIT-Vancouver

Friends, family, and faculty honored 31 members of the Class of 2015 at NYIT-Vancouver's 14th graduation ceremony and luncheon on May 29 at the Vancity Theatre. NYIT Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Rahmat A. Shoureshi, Ph.D., conferred M.B.A.s on the graduates, and NYIT President Edward Guiliano, Ph.D., sent his congratulations via video.
Campus Dean Paul Dangerfield and Binh Nguyen, Ph.D., associate dean of NYIT’s School of Management, also addressed graduates and their guests. Nguyen noted the critical role played by NYIT-Vancouver students and alumni in the university's recently announced global accreditation by AACSB International. Dangerfield urged graduates to build connections between “NYIT, our great global university,” and “the great global city of Vancouver.”
President Guiliano told graduates education is an asset that brings a lifetime of returns. Shoureshi reinforced this message and said: “Your degree is worth more now than ever before.”
Class valedictorian Yatin Patil delivered the student address. Praising NYIT’s global network, he encouraged classmates to establish strong links with Vancouver and New York.
The ceremony in Vancouver follows NYIT's 54th Commencement on May 17 in Old Westbury, N.Y., which celebrated all 2,790 members of NYIT’s Class of 2015. Graduates in Abu Dhabi were also honored on May 21.
NYIT launched its M.B.A. program in Canada in 1999 and has since awarded degrees to nearly 1,000 Vancouver alumni. The university recently began offering British Columbia’s only cybersecurity master’s degree. NYIT's Vancouver campus has Education Quality Assurance status granted by the Ministry of Advanced Education of British Columbia, Canada.
