News Byte: New York Tech Ranked Among Top 20 Universities for Diversity

November 1, 2019

New York Institute of Technology has been selected by the readers of Woman Engineer magazine as one of the top universities in the country offering a diversified curriculum, student base and faculty, as well as fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment. The list, the result of an annual reader survey mailed each year to randomly selected readers of Woman Engineer, was published in the magazine’s November edition.

“To be included in Women Engineer’s reader’s choice list of top 20 engineering schools fostering diversity and inclusion validates our many efforts encouraging women and under-represented minorities to study and pursue degrees in the STEM fields,” says Babak Beheshti, Ph.D., dean of NYIT College of Engineering and Computing Sciences. “And to be on the short list among the likes of Carnegie Mellon, Georgia Tech, Princeton, and Cornell demonstrates the strength of our mission, vision, and reach."

Launched in 1979 and published by Equal Opportunity Publications, Woman Engineer is read by 135,205 women engineering students and professionals in all career disciplines.
