The NYIT School of Management Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Student Chapter was awarded the 2019-2020 Outstanding Student Chapter for its excellence and achievement in programming and education. This is the fourth year since 2011 that the chapter has received this award.

“This is SHRM’s highest recognition of student chapters,” said William Ninehan, Ed.S., director of human resource studies and the chapter’s advisor. “This is the chapter’s fourth Outstanding Chapter award, and few student chapters have such a distinctive and consistent record. The award is very competitive and requires considerable student talent and work to achieve.”

The New York Tech SHRM chapter offers students opportunities to meet and network with practicing HR professionals at its monthly general meetings and conferences. The chapter also works on projects that benefit the local community, including a Veterans Day event with IAVA (Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America), as well as offering networking training for job seekers at HempsteadWorks on Long Island.

The chapter’s officers for 2019-2020 are: Ishita Trikha (president), Andres David and Shivangi Patel (co-vice presidents), Ali Alshareef, Reinny Miranda, Antoine Valade, and AnnKathrin Zilles (directors).
