About our speakers

Robert Bradford has more than 30 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering design and over 15 years experience in energy efficiency. Bradford is the manager of mechanical engineering in the Energy Efficiency Group for the New York Power Authority (NYPA). His role includes overseeing both energy savings calculation conformance to NYPA standards and technical oversight of large mechanical engineering design work undertaken on NYPA Energy Efficiency projects for governmental customers. Not only is Bradford a licensed Professional Engineer in New York, but also a Certified Energy Manager and a Certified Building Commissioning Professional through the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). Currently, he is pursuing a M.S. in Energy Management at NYIT.

Rebecca Hughes is the program manager for marketing and training for NYEM, a virtual energy management service of NYPA. Hughes is responsible for training, building operators and facility managers to utilize NYEM's secure web-based platform. Though this platform, she can view real-time energy use data and use that information to identify and implement energy and cost savings. Throughout Hughes's career, she has led work on innovative post-secondary education initiatives by bringing together business, labor, and government officals to build clean energy partnerships.
