Clinical Associate Professor and Chair for the Department of Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Mindy Haar, Ph.D., RDN, was featured in a LoseIt! article about how learning to cook and prepare meals at home can support weight loss goals. For new cooks, Haar recommends kitchen tools that cut down on prep time, including immersion blenders, which are helpful for making homemade soups and sauces, and blended seasonings to boost flavor.
